Key messages to the community
Ovens and King Community Health Service would like to provide some key messages that contribute to healthy lifestyles and wellbeing as part of their health promotion plan.
Mental Health and Wellbeing
Almost everyone has a day where they feel sad. You may also feel like you are feeling down or getting irritable, can't concentrate or lack energy to get going. If you are beginning to feel like this more often you might like to consider these handy hints to improve your mood;
-
Being part of a community or joining a social group
-
Try to wake up early in the morning (7.00am everyday)
-
Don't stay in bed once you wake - get up, get some fresh air and daylight
-
Make sure that you have good quality sleep
-
Try to taek a brisk walk every day or join in a physical activity group
-
East regular, healthy meals
Physical Activity and Ative Communities
Physical Activity Guidelines for Adults
Step 1 - Think of movement as an opportunity, not an inconvenience
Step 2 - Be active every day in as many ways as you can
Step 3 - Put together at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity on most days
Social Connection is good medicine
Exercise is fun and health promoting
You're never too old to start exercising
Integrated health promotion planning is also occurring through the Central Hume Primary Care Partnership integrated health promotion catchment plan and the Alpine Healthy Communities Group health promotion plan
